The FAJA region within Venezuela’s Orinoco Belt holds one of the world’s largest accumulations of heavy and extra-heavy crude oil. Extracting these dense hydrocarbon resources requires highly specialized upstream equipment and robust structural support for oil wells. As part of PDVSA’s continuous production efforts, securing a massive, reliable supply of premium casing pipes was paramount to maintaining wellbore integrity across hundreds of active oil fields. Allland Pipe stepped up to fulfill this grand-scale energy supply contract, successfully manufacturing and delivering 7,500 tons of API 5CT J55 seamless casing pipes to support Venezuela’s core petroleum operations.
Client Challenge
- Demanding Downhole Environments: Heavy crude oil operations subject casing strings to severe axial loads, external collapse pressures, and corrosive subterranean fluids. The steel pipes must possess flawless structural integrity to eliminate any risk of downhole collapse.
- Massive Order Volume with Tight Delivery: Producing 7,500 tons of high-grade seamless casing pipes requires absolute consistency across batches. Every single joint had to meet strict geometric tolerances regarding wall thickness uniformity and precise API threading.
- Specialized End Protection: To ensure the threads remained undamaged during sea freight transit and rugged field handling in the FAJA oil fields, the pipes demanded heavy-duty thread protectors and specialized green-coated couplings according to standard marking conventions.
Our Solution and Results
- Premium Seamless Pipe Manufacturing: Allland Pipe utilized its advanced seamless hot-rolling production lines to manufacture the 139.7mm casing. The J55 grade steel steel was processed under strict temperature controls to achieve the required yield and tensile strengths.
- Precision Threading and Strict NDT: We applied premium API 5CT standard threading to every casing pipe. Our quality team performed 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including electromagnetic and ultrasonic inspections, alongside rigorous hydrostatic testing to guarantee zero defects under high pressure.
- Heavy-Duty Packaging for Export: Every pipe joint was fitted with green color-coded protective couplings and robust thread protectors. The 7,500-ton shipment was securely bundled, moisture-protected, and shipped on schedule, ensuring arrival at the Venezuelan port in pristine condition.
